We are seeking an experienced Multi-State PEO Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic human resources team. This critical role requires a detail-oriented professional who possesses deep expertise in payroll processing across multiple state jurisdictions within a Professional Employer Organization (PEO) environment. The ideal candidate will serve as a subject matter expert on complex multi-state payroll regulations, tax compliance, and PEO-specific operational requirements. In this position, you will be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll operations for clients across various states, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and full compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax laws. You will work closely with client companies, internal teams, and external vendors to resolve payroll discrepancies, answer complex payroll inquiries, and maintain the highest standards of data integrity and confidentiality. The Multi-State PEO Payroll Specialist will play a vital role in supporting our growing client base by providing exceptional service and expertise in navigating the complexities of multi-jurisdictional payroll administration. This position requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.     • Prior Experience Working In A PEO, Payroll Service Bureau, Or Multi-Client Payroll Environment Required
    • Strong Knowledge Of Federal And Multi-State Payroll Tax Regulations, Wage And Hour Laws, And Compliance Requirements
    • Proficiency With Payroll Software Systems Such As ADP Workforce Now, Paychex, Or Similar Enterprise Platforms
    • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) Or FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) Strongly Preferred
    • High School Diploma Required; Associate's Or Bachelor's Degree In Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Or Related Field Preferred Skills

  • Process accurate and timely multi-state payroll for PEO clients across various jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local wage and hour laws

  • Manage payroll tax registrations, filings, and payments for multiple states, including quarterly and annual reconciliations

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client payroll inquiries, providing expert guidance on complex multi-state payroll issues, tax questions, and PEO-specific processes

  • Audit and reconcile payroll data to ensure accuracy of wages, deductions, garnishments, benefits, and tax withholdings across all client accounts

  • Coordinate with HR, benefits, and accounting teams to ensure seamless integration of employee data changes, new hires, terminations, and benefit deductions

  • Research and interpret state-specific payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements to ensure adherence to all jurisdictional mandates

  • Maintain and update payroll system configurations for multi-state tax tables, wage bases, and regulatory changes

  • Generate and analyze payroll reports for clients and internal stakeholders, identifying trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvements Working Hours
