Payroll Support

As a Payroll Support professional, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for employees. Your primary focus will be on managing payroll inquiries, providing administrative support, and maintaining compliance with relevant payroll legislation. This position is essential in delivering exceptional service to employees by addressing their payroll-related queries and ensuring their concerns are resolved efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process payroll transactions accurately and on time, ensuring all data is correctly entered into the payroll system
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, tax information, and benefits with clarity and professionalism
• Assist in the preparation and distribution of payroll reports and statements to management, ensuring data integrity
• Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to gather necessary information for payroll processing and adjustments
• Ensure compliance with relevant tax laws, labour regulations, and company policies in all payroll-related activities
• Maintain and update payroll records, ensuring all employee information is current and accurate in the system
• Support the payroll team in auditing and reconciling payroll transactions for accuracy and consistency
• Stay up to date with changes in payroll regulations and best practices to ensure continued compliance and improvement

Skills and Requirements:

• Demonstrable experience in payroll processing or administrative support functions related to payroll
• Proficient in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling numerical data and payroll calculations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with employees and team members
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• A solid understanding of relevant legislation regarding payroll and employee rights

Minimum Requirements:

• Relevant diploma or degree in Finance, Human Resources, or a related field
• Experience with payroll compliance and knowledge of South African tax laws
• Familiarity with HRIS systems and their integration with payroll processes
• Certification in payroll management or related professional training
