Job description

PURPOSE OF JOB

The main objective of this role is to manage Training in line with the Company’s people development strategy, coordinating and providing training interventions and workshops for Restaurant Teams across all regions. The candidate will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on the progress of all Skills Trainer’s within their responsibility, thus ensuring talent and capability to feed the people pipeline, in close partnership with Ops and HR partners. To assist the Ops partners with store audits to ensure compliance with ROCC.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • The People Development Coach will evaluate accountability and responsibility of training plan with restaurant RGM, as well as AC and RC as needed
  • Ensure that the documentation of the training process is executed by the RGM and will provide support where needed
  • Ensure that regular visits to the restaurant are scheduled to evaluate the level of training and will communicate all gaps to the RGM, AC and RC as needed
  • Work with the HRBP and AC to identify management training needs, including identifying individual training needs
  • Work with operations to identify any gap in managers skills and will search for an appropriate training solution to address these gap’s, in alignment with the Training Continuum
  • PDC and Ops lead will assess the impact of the training program on operations
  • Liaise with HR department to ensure documentation received from restaurants is correctly completed and any gaps will be communicated to RGM’s and AC’s

Training and Reporting

  • To work with Ops lead, AC’s and HRBP (Plan and build bench)
  • On-board and mentor newly appointed RGM’s
  • Assist with co-ordination and facilitation of Assessment Centres (For restaurant management as required) and ensure feedback to candidates is documented and followed up on
  • New restaurants’ training needs to be discussed with Ops lead & AC and training plan to be communicated to new restaurant RGM and to support with the execution of the training plan
  • Communicate feedback on progress of trainers to Ops lead
  • Provide feedback on the Developing Champions programme and other training workshops and identify suggestions for improvement

Manage Developing Champions and Learning Technologies

  • Take ownership for management of training for internal/external Management (12 week / 6 months for externals). Take ownership for management of training for internal Module Trainers
  • Meet with Management trainees to review their training, knowledge & skills during their training. Also meet with the RGM and Module training to ensure standard of training is on standard with RC, AC and PDC discussion on way forward if not meeting standards
  • Submit all Practical and Theoretical assessments online as well as final skill shift assessments
  • Coordinate and facilitate Development record sign offs (PDC will inform AC that the next process needs to happen and will get paperwork to be completed by AC)
  • Drive learning technologies in restaurant, monitoring competence, utilisation and learning outcomes

Coordination and execution of People calendar for designated geographic areas

  • Plan & facilitate the training workshops required for Developing Champions
  • DC Orientation & Module Trainer (LAS, LAR, LARC)
  • All courses contained in the training continuum included in management training plan
  • Work closely with Training Co-ordinator from training providers to coordinate the training logistics
  • Follow up on any National Product or System roll outs required in restaurants and the training cascade (Training Coach will keep RGM & AC informed about progress)
  • Manage the Training Costs within budget
  • Facilitate Centralised Orientation & Recruitment Days (ensuring maximum learning retention through experiential techniques)
  • Arrange and facilitate Recruitment days with RGM’s, including post-session feedback & reporting

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven track record of success in the QSR industry (minimum 5 years), with KFC experience preferred
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Restaurant General Manager (advantageous)
  • Grade 12 and/or a relevant qualification in Business, Operations Management, Training & Development, or HR
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Excellent facilitation and training delivery skills with a passion for developing others
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills
  • Self-motivated with a strong drive for results and the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management
  • Skilled in leveraging knowledge to build people capability and support talent pipeline development
  • High level of integrity: trustworthy, reliable, and able to maintain confidentiality
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Valid driver’s license and access to own reliable transport
