Role Description This is a part-time, hybrid Personal Assistant role based in Durban. The Personal Assistant will provide day-to-day administrative and organizational support to leadership, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and coordinating travel and appointments. The role involves handling correspondence, preparing documents, maintaining records, and performing general clerical duties to ensure smooth office operations. Given the financial oversight involved in running the business, the Personal Assistant will also support light financial administration — such as tracking expenses, processing invoices, and assisting with basic financial record keeping — working closely with the Director. The Personal Assistant will assist with prioritizing tasks, organizing information, and supporting internal communication to help the team stay focused and productive. This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual who can manage multiple requests, is comfortable working with numbers, and can maintain confidentiality.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong personal assistance skills, including task coordination and day-to-day support.
- Experience in executive administrative assistance, such as managing schedules and supporting senior leadership.
- Some finance skills, experience, or knowledge is required — e.g. basic bookkeeping exposure, invoice processing, expense tracking, or general financial literacy.
- Familiarity with accounting software (Xero) is advantageous but not essential.
- Excellent communication skills for handling emails, calls, and internal liaison.
- Proficient diary management abilities, including organizing meetings and appointments.
- Solid clerical skills, including document preparation, filing, and record keeping.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail, particularly when handling financial and confidential information.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with office software and digital productivity tools (Google Workspace).
- Previous experience in an administrative or assistant role is preferred.
- 2+ years of work experience in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Matric (Grade 12) minimum; a diploma or degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Office Management, or a related field is advantageous.
Important Notes
- Must have own laptop, other equipment and a reliable internet connection.
- Compensation structure is as follows: Month 1 is a voluntary/probation period. Thereafter, the position is paid subject to a KPI review.
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal
Pay: R500,00 - R2 000,00 per month
