Job description

The agency works across a range of industries, offering tailored digital marketing solutions that align with each client's goals and audience. Role Description
This is a part-time, hybrid Personal Assistant role based in Durban. The Personal Assistant will provide day-to-day administrative and organizational support to leadership, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and coordinating travel and appointments. The role involves handling correspondence, preparing documents, maintaining records, and performing general clerical duties to ensure smooth office operations.
Given the financial oversight involved in running the business, the Personal Assistant will also support light financial administration — such as tracking expenses, processing invoices, and assisting with basic financial record keeping — working closely with the Director.
This role also carries a marketing and design dimension: the Personal Assistant will support Peak Digital's own brand presence and, where relevant, client-facing content — assisting with graphic design, ad creative, social media asset preparation, and basic web design/updates using tools such as Canva. The ideal candidate is genuinely well-rounded across finance, marketing, digital design, web design, and admin, comfortable moving between numbers and creative execution in the same day.
The Personal Assistant will assist with prioritizing tasks, organizing information, and supporting internal communication to help the team stay focused and productive. This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual who can manage multiple requests, is comfortable working with numbers and design tools alike, and can maintain confidentiality.
We're looking for someone genuinely enthusiastic about gaining hands-on work experience across finance, marketing, and design — more than someone focused on immediate compensation. In return, this role offers significant opportunity for growth, with a clear path toward a permanent, fixed-salary position for the right person.
Skills & Qualifications
Personal Assistance & Administration
Strong personal assistance skills, including task coordination and day-to-day support. Experience in executive administrative assistance, such as managing schedules and supporting senior leadership. Excellent communication skills for handling emails, calls, and internal liaison. Proficient diary management abilities, including organizing meetings and appointments. Solid clerical skills, including document preparation, filing, and record keeping. Proficiency with office software and digital productivity tools (Google Workspace).
Finance
Some finance skills, experience, or knowledge is required — e.g. basic bookkeeping exposure, invoice processing, expense tracking, or general financial literacy. Familiarity with accounting software (Xero) is advantageous but not essential. High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail, particularly when handling financial and confidential information.
Marketing, Graphic Design & Web Design
Working knowledge of graphic design principles and hands-on experience with design tools such as Canva (Adobe Creative Suite advantageous). Basic web design or website-editing exposure (e.g. Wix, WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, or similar) is advantageous. Exposure to running or supporting digital ad campaigns (e.g. Meta Ads, Google Ads) is advantageous. Ability to prepare on-brand social media content and marketing collateral in line with brand guidelines. Genuine interest in digital marketing and design, and comfort switching between financial admin and creative/marketing tasks.
General
Ability to prioritize tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines. Previous experience in an administrative or assistant role is preferred. 1+ years of work experience in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Design, or a related field. Matric (Grade 12) minimum; a diploma or degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Marketing, Design, Office Management, or a related field is advantageous.
Important Notes
Must have own laptop, other equipment and a reliable internet connection.
Compensation structure:
- Months 1–3: Unpaid / voluntary.
- Months 4–9: Variable pay based on KPI review.
- Month 10 onward: A new contract will be offered for a full-time position with a fixed salary, subject to performance.
This role is best suited to someone motivated by the experience, mentorship, and growth on offer rather than immediate earnings — there is significant room to grow within the business as it scales.
