Location: Cape Town Remote / Hybrid | Experience Level: 2-5 Years

Salary: R20-28k per month (dependent on experience)

Job Overview

We're looking for a highly organised and detail-focused Invoice Validation Specialist to join our Operations team.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, spotting discrepancies and solving problems, but who is also confident communicating with clients and suppliers. You will be responsible for processing and validating clients’ energy invoices, investigating billing errors and ensuring queries are followed through to a satisfactory resolution.

Accuracy is essential, but this is not purely a data-processing position. You will regularly communicate with clients and energy suppliers by email and telephone, so you must be professional, confident and able to explain issues clearly.

Key Responsibilities

· Processing and validating electricity, gas and other utility invoices.

· Entering invoice and consumption data accurately into our internal systems.

· Checking invoices against contracted tariffs and billing information.

· Identifying incorrect charges, missing invoices and unusual discrepancies.

· Approving validated invoices for payment.

· Ensuring invoices are processed within our 48-hour service target.

· Reviewing supplier billing portals and following up on missing invoices.

· Producing accurate billing spreadsheets and reports.

· Raising billing disputes directly with energy suppliers.

· Managing client and supplier queries from initial investigation through to resolution.

· Keeping clients updated on the progress and outcome of their queries.

· Maintaining shared Operations inboxes, internal systems and query trackers.

· Strong organisation and the ability to prioritise a busy workload.

· Good Microsoft Excel, Outlook and general IT skills.

· The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Previous experience in invoice validation, billing, accounts payable, energy or utilities would be beneficial. However, comprehensive training will be provided for a candidate with the right aptitude, attitude and transferable experience.

Pay: R20 000,00 - R28 000,00 per month
