Reverse Logistics at Dis-Chem Oncology is a process that allows us to credit patients for chemotherapy medication that was prepared but ultimately not used. By returning the unused medication through the appropriate process, we can recover its value and pass the credit back to the patient’s account, helping their medical aid benefits go a little further and reducing unnecessary costs.

Key Performance Areas:

• To fulfil the role of the Reverse logistics department team leader including responsibility for the performance metrics of all employees within the department.
• To electronically capture all credits received from the individual practices and make it accessible to the team as per the SOP.
• To action the credit requests according to the rules, regulations and SOP’s.
• To pay particular attention to the business and financial risk of re-processing a script; engaging with the original claiming agent to mitigate negative consequences.
• To escalate all credit rejections with the different medical schemes, with specific reference to outstanding monies of newly created levies.
• To correctly receive and process all returned stock from the individual practices.
• To take note of messages on the customer profile and act accordingly.
• To charge correct prices for goods dispensed
• Ensure the correct medical scheme claiming code is used when resubmitting claims.
• To timeously report any irregular, out of protocol or non-compliance to SOP requests to the reporting manager.
• To assist with the day-to-day functions of the Reverse Logistics pharmacist assistants or clerks as needed.
• To assist with documenting and updating SOP’s, procedures and protocols, and to ensure the above is implanted accordingly.

Minimum Requirements

• Must be a registered Pharmacist with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)

• Strong knowledge of oncology protocols and safety procedures

• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure

• Team player with good communication skills
