Role : Pharmacist

It is a full-time, on-site role based in Umhlanga, responsible for overseeing daily pharmacy operations and ensuring high-quality patient care. This role includes supervising pharmacy staff, managing workflow for dispensing prescriptions, and verifying the accuracy and safety of medication dispensing. The Pharmacist will counsel patients on medication use, possible side effects, and adherence, while maintaining regulatory and legal compliance, including record-keeping and reporting. The role also involves managing inventory, monitoring stock levels, and coordinating with suppliers to ensure availability of medications and vaccines. The Pharmacist is expected to implement and maintain best practices in pharmacy operations, support immunization services, train and mentor team members, and collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications

Demonstrated competence in Pharmacy and Pharmacy Practice, including safe dispensing and patient-centered care.

Experience working with Pharmacy Technicians, including supervision, task delegation, and team coordination.

Strong skills in managing Prescriptions, including verification, counseling, and error prevention.

Ability to oversee and administer Immunization services in line with current clinical guidelines and regulations.

Recognized pharmacy qualification (e.g., BPharm or equivalent) and valid registration with the relevant pharmacy council or regulatory body.

Experience in a community or retail pharmacy setting, with proven ability to manage day-to-day operations.

Knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and ethical standards, with commitment to compliance and patient safety.

Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to work accurately under pressure.

Comfort with pharmacy management systems and basic computer literacy to manage records and reporting.

Leadership capabilities, including staff training, performance feedback, and fostering a collaborative work environment.

Experience:

Minimum 2-3 years post-community service experience.

Pay: R20 000,00 - R30 000,00 per month
