About the role Join Shoprite as a Pharmacist in Kuruman, Northern Cape, and play a key role in delivering exceptional pharmaceutical care within a dynamic retail environment.
The role involves leading and developing pharmacy staff, driving operational performance and sales growth, managing pharmacy budgets and fostering strong relationships with healthcare professionals, suppliers and internal stakeholders. By combining clinical expertise with strong leadership and operational oversight, you will contribute to the delivery of quality healthcare solutions and support Shoprite's commitment to accessible, customer-focused care.
What you'll do You will be required to:
- Accurately dispense medication and provide professional pharmaceutical care and advice to customers.
- Ensure the effective day-to-day management of pharmacy operations, administration, and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain optimal stock levels through effective inventory management, ordering, and stock control processes.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and foster a positive customer experience.
- Plan, allocate, and manage staff schedules to support operational efficiency and business objectives.
- Monitor pharmacy performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives to achieve operational targets.
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop pharmacy staff, interns, and pharmacist assistants to build a high-performing team.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with healthcare professionals, suppliers, internal stakeholders, and support functions.
- Resolve operational challenges and customer queries efficiently to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Manage pharmacy expenses and budgets while driving sales growth and achieving financial objectives.
- Support healthcare campaigns, wellness initiatives, and customer engagement activities within the pharmacy.
- Uphold all legislative, ethical, and company standards to ensure a safe and compliant pharmacy environment.
What you bring Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) degree or equivalent qualification.
- Registered as a Pharmacist with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
- Registered Tutor with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
