As a Pharmacy Support Specialist, you will play a key role in delivering an exceptional patient experience by supporting customers throughout their medication journey. You'll act as a central point of contact for patients, pharmacists, dispensaries, and delivery teams, ensuring prescriptions are processed accurately and medication orders are fulfilled efficiently.

What you'll doYou will be required to:

• Provide professional support to customers via phone, email, chat, and digital service channels.
• Assist with prescription capture, validation, and processing within approved pharmacy systems.
• Coordinate medication orders and delivery activities to ensure a seamless customer experience.
• Support customers with prescription submissions, repeat medication requests, and service-related queries.
• Liaise with pharmacies, fulfilment teams, and delivery partners to resolve order and delivery issues.
• Escalate clinical, medication safety, and pharmacist-only matters to the responsible pharmacist.
• Maintain accurate records, case notes, and customer information across multiple digital systems.
• Contribute to quality assurance initiatives, system testing, process improvements, and operational projects.
• Ensure compliance with pharmacy legislation, patient confidentiality requirements, and Medirite operational standards.

What you bringQualification:

• A Post-Basic Pharmacist Assistant qualification with valid South African Pharmacy Council registration.

Experience:

• A minimum of 2 years experience in a retail, community, courier, or telepharmacy environment.
• Strong customer service and communication skills with a passion for helping patients.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Confidence working across various pharmacy, customer service, and digital platforms.
• Knowledge of pharmacy legislation, good pharmacy practice, prescription processing, and patient confidentiality requirements.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify risks and escalate issues appropriately.
• The ability to remain calm, professional, and solutions-driven in a high-volume service environment.
• A collaborative approach and the ability to build effective relationships across multiple teams.

Advantageous*:*

• Experience in a call centre, healthcare contact centre, telepharmacy environment, or working with CRM and case management systems.
