Job Title : Maintenance planner/ Administrator/ Asset care planner

Division: Weir Minerals

Location : Onsite

Purpose of Role:

Maximizing equipment reliability and operational performance by ensuring maintenance activities are planned, scheduled, and executed efficiently. Reducing downtime, optimizing resources, and driving proactive asset care strategies that improve productivity and safety. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver continuous improvement initiatives and support maintenance practices.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Maintenance Planning & Scheduling: Develop detailed maintenance plans, schedules, job packs, and resource requirements to ensure safe, efficient, and timely execution of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Asset Reliability & Performance: Drive asset care strategies by analysing equipment history, identifying recurring failures, and implementing maintenance plans that improve reliability, availability, and overall equipment performance.
  • Work Management & Resource Optimisation: Coordinate labour, materials, tools, contractors, and spare parts to ensure maintenance work is executed efficiently while minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
  • Continuous Improvement & Data Management: Maintain accurate maintenance records, KPIs, and asset information, while identifying opportunities to improve maintenance processes, planning accuracy, and asset lifecycle performance.
  • Ensure maintenance activities are scheduled to minimise production downtime.
  • Maintain a planned vs unplanned work balance.
  • Perform general administrative work

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 with Maths and Science or equivalent
  • Applicable trade ( preferably a Millwright)
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in maintenance planning, asset care, reliability, or maintenance management within a manufacturing, mining, or industrial environment.
  • Proficiency in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems, such as SAP or Shopware, or equivalent maintenance planning software.
  • Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance principles, resource planning, asset management practices, and continuous improvement methodologies.
