Minimum Skills and Knowledge Required
- National Diploma or Degree in Inventory / Supply Chain / Operations / Production Management.
- Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in a high-pressure planning or production environment, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
- Proficient in English, both verbal and written.
- Computer literate (MS Office) with proficiency in MS Excel advance.
- Must be prepared to work overtime / weekends in accordance with operational requirements. Behavioural Dimensions Required

- Supervise the planning team in pursuance of achieving daily deadlines and objectives.
- Monitor and review Amtrack reports throughout the shift, ensuring updates are timely, accurate, and aligned with operational requirements.
- Provide feedback to Planning Manager daily and when production did not run according to plan.
- Give proactive explanation to Sales when we envisage that a production dept/s will not meet the day’s deadlines
- Continuous mentoring and grooming of subordinates.
- Oversee and assist with staff movement when needed.
- Prepare reports for management weekly or as required.
- Support and oversee training initiatives on the shift, ensuring consistent development and alignment with operational standards.
- Assist as and when operationally required in other areas or departments.
- Assist Master schedulers with machine run time and lead times.
- Investigate and give solutions on problematic jobs and bring the solution to the relevant Account Manager’s attention.
- Act as the first point of escalation for production and consolidation issues, applying a planning-focused approach to decision-making and driving effective problem resolution
- Provide support with testing, administrative tasks, and other ad hoc requirements as needed to ensure smooth planning operations.
- Handle disciplinary action when required with guidance from the HR department.
- Investigate missed deadline orders, problem orders and identify solutions to provide feedback to Management.
- Monitor that planning employees are following the HSE Act and report any issues to the Safety Manager.
