Job description
We are looking for a Portfolio Manager to manage a portfolio of Funds and Clients, ensuring Service Level Agreements are met, and obtain client and member satisfaction. The Portfolio Manager will act as the client facing representative of the company regarding all administration matters.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Client Relationship Management
- Reduce client escalations by monitoring SLA compliance in conjunction with the Head of Claims and Head of Contributions.
- Prepare, communicate and present accurate, complete and professional reports and information timeously to clients and Trustees.
- Prepare for and attend Trustees Meetings.
- Create and communicate meeting minutes.
- Maintain client satisfaction within scope of responsibility.
- Problem solve any client escalations promptly and put measures in place to ensure such instances are not repeated.
- Manage client queries promptly.
- Ensure investments and disinvestments are made timeously.
- Promote online claim submissions and eContributions where possible. Identify roadblocks and assist clients in removing it.
- Meet regularly with Employers, Consultants, Trustees to maintain working relationships and to address any problems, changes in legislation, administrative procedures etc.
Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of management or supervisory experience in the Employee Benefits (EB) Industry in Retirement Funds.
- A completed commercial degree in Accounting, Financial Planning, Law or similar will be advantageous.
- Completed EB Industry-specific courses/programmes preferable.
- Intermediate level of computer skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
- RE5 will be advantageous
Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours

- Strong knowledge of Retirement Provident Fund Rules, general Client SLAs, Pension Funds Act, FSCA regulations, Retirement Fund taxation, POPIA and data privacy requirements, Governance frameworks and trustee reporting
