Job description

Curro seeks to appoint Portfolio Manager: Strategic Relations (full-time) at Curro Head Office in Bellville to commence duties in August 2026
Vacancy Reference: 28436 Curro is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven Strategic Relations Portfolio Manager to lead high-impact education and transformation initiatives. This is a pivotal role where strategic oversight meets hands-on leadership, ensuring the success of our scholarship programme and other transformation projects.

Key performance areas
- Lead and manage the full operations of the Curro Foundation’s scholarship programme, from learner selection to reporting.
- Provide oversight on transformation initiatives (B-BBEE, EE, YES programmes) ensuring compliance and timely delivery.
- Manage and mentor a team of Project Leads, Administrators, and Interns.
- Act as a key liaison with donors, corporate partners, and community stakeholders.
- Ensure all projects remain within budget, meet compliance standards, and deliver measurable impact.
- Oversee donor and learner-related promotional events and monitor the Foundation’s social media presence.
Qualifications, experience and skills
- Bachelor degree in Education, Development Studies, Business Administration, or related field (postgraduate qualification an advantage).
- 8–12 years progressive work experience in programme or project management, including 3+ years in people management.
- Proven experience in scholarship or donor-funded initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of B-BBEE and EE compliance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English (non-negotiable); fluency in another South African language highly advantageous.
- A leader who combines vision with operational excellence, is calm under pressure, and thrives in a values-based, fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel nationally and work after hours during peak periods.
