HUMAN SETTLEMENTS Principal Professional Officer (Senior Civil Engineer)

(3 year contract position

Requirements

  • An appropriate tertiary qualification in BEng or BSc (Eng)
  • Registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa

(ECSA) as an Engineer

  • Up to eight (8) years’ relevant experience
  • A valid Drivers Licence

Key Performance Areas

  • Manage the integrated planning of cross-cutting projects and

programmes to ensure integrated approach to service delivery.

  • Analyse, monitor, manage and advise on multi-year capital

and operating budget requirements and ensuring compliance

to all prescripts

  • Lead the preparation, adjudication, and management of tenders,

ensuring compliance with policies and reducing project risks.

  • Provide guidance and support to project managers on tender

and contract management processes, including

documentation and compliance.

  • Manage period resource tenders (PRT), ensuring timely

readvertisement and effective monitoring throughout their lifecycle.

  • Oversee integrated planning projects, managing the full

project lifecycle, including benefits, risks, and financial controls

  • Procure professional services, execute tasks related to project

implementation, and supervise project teams

  • Coordinate and engagement with all relevant stakeholders to

ensure successful project roll-out.

  • Facilitate community participation and ensure alignment with

national, provincial, and City urban development policies to

achieve seamless project execution.
