Private Chef

We are looking for an experienced and professional Private Chef to prepare high-quality meals for an executive. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and preparing daily meals according to the executive’s preferences, maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation, and ensuring the kitchen is kept clean and organised.

This role is suited to a chef who is passionate about food, has excellent attention to detail and understands the importance of discretion, professionalism and consistency when working in a private environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare daily meals for the executive according to their preferences and dietary requirements.
• Prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks as required.
• Create varied and well-balanced menus while maintaining high food quality and presentation.
• Prepare meals using fresh, quality ingredients.
• Adapt menus and meals according to dietary preferences, allergies or special requests.
• Manage grocery and ingredient requirements and ensure necessary stock is available.
• Monitor food quality, freshness and stock levels.
• Minimise food waste and manage kitchen costs responsibly.
• Maintain a clean, hygienic and well-organised kitchen.
• Ensure all food is stored, prepared and handled according to food safety and hygiene standards.
• Keep kitchen equipment, utensils and work areas clean and properly maintained.
• Assist with meal preparation for guests or small private functions when required.
• Maintain a professional, respectful and discreet relationship with the executive and household.
• Be flexible with working hours when required, depending on the executive’s schedule.
• Perform any other reasonable duties related to the role.

Minimum Requirements & Experience

• Relevant culinary qualification will be advantageous.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Chef, preferably in a private household, luxury hotel, lodge or high-end restaurant environment.
• Proven experience preparing a variety of cuisines and high-quality meals.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, presentation and food safety.
• Experience with menu planning and catering for individual preferences.
• Good knowledge of dietary requirements and food allergies.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Professional, reliable and trustworthy.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver’s licence will be advantageous.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends when required.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times.
