Private Family & Company Driver (Cape Town )

Job Advert Summary

We are looking for an experienced, reliable and discreet Private Driver to support a

busy professional, her family and her businesses. You'll be the person who gets

everyone where they need to be, safely and on time, every day. The role suits a calm,

mature, well-presented driver who knows Cape Town inside out and takes pride in a

spotless vehicle and a clean driving record.

You'll drive the Director to and from the office and to meetings across the city, transport

staff to client sites and inspections, take the children to and from school and

extracurricular activities, and run personal and business of errands for various

businesses. You will also take full responsibility for the cleanliness and servicing

of the vehicles in your care.

a. Mature, calm and level-headed, including in heavy traffic or under pressure

b. Punctual, reliable and responsible, with a strong sense of duty

c. Committed, dedicated and loyal

d. Dynamic and flexible, comfortable with a schedule that changes during the day

e. Discreet and trustworthy with family, business and confidential matters

f. Willing to work long hours when needed

Minimum Requirements

a. 5 to 7 years proven experience as a Private Driver for a family or a company

b. Experience driving private and company vehicles, and shuttling passengers

c. Valid, clean South African driver's licence, Code B (formerly Code 8) or higher

d. A Professional Driving Permit (PrDP) will be an advantage

e. No reported vehicle accidents

f. Valid First Aid certificate

g. Clean background check and no criminal record

h. Excellent knowledge of Cape Town and its suburbs

i. Fluent in English, with good communication skills

j. Non-smoker and non-drinker

k. Neat, professional and presentable appearance

l. Verifiable references from previous employers (essential) NOT NEGOTIABLE

Duties and Responsibilities

a. Driving the Director to and from her office and to appointments across Cape

Town

b. Driving the Director (when required) and her staff to various destinations on a

daily basis

c. Collecting and dropping off staff at various locations for daily site inspections

d. Driving the children to and from extracurricular activities, collecting them from the

au pair after 5:30 pm, and from school when required

e. Running daily errands for the principal, her household and all her businesses

f. Collecting and delivering documents and parcels securely and confidentially

g. Ensuring the safety and comfort of all passengers at all times

h. Keeping the vehicle clean inside and out at all times

i. Performing routine vehicle checks (tyres, oil, water, lights) and basic

maintenance

j. Ensuring vehicles are serviced on schedule and booking them in when due

k. Keeping the vehicle fuelled, with a weekly fill-up, and keeping fuel and expense

Working hours

a. Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 6:30 pm, or longer when needed

b. Flexible schedule with breaks during the day

c. May include some Saturdays and Sundays
