Process Materials Controller

Job Advert Summary

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly stock counts of all process materials, including coal, chemicals, packaging, and consumables.
• Monitor inventory levels to ensure no material stock-outs occur.
• Maintain minimum and maximum stock thresholds at all times to support uninterrupted mill operations.
• Investigate, reconcile, and report stock take variances, implementing corrective actions where required.
• Ensure the timely requisitioning, purchasing, receiving, storage, and distribution of process materials.
• Maintain accurate inventory and stock records in SAP and other applicable systems.
• Verify that all goods received and issued are accurately recorded and supported by the required documentation.
• Report, investigate, and assist in the resolution of incidents and non-conformances.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and implement corrective actions as required.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards within the stores and material storage areas.

Minimum Requirements

Qualification:

• Grade 12
• Certificate in Logistics Management / Materials handling / Stock keeping

Experience:

• Experience in inventory, materials, stores, warehouse, or stock control within a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
• Experience working with inventory management systems, preferably SAP.
• Knowledge of stock-taking processes, inventory reconciliation, and procurement procedures.
• Experience in maintaining minimum and maximum stock levels and preventing stock shortages.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Sound knowledge of inventory and materials management principles.
• Understanding of procurement, goods receiving, and goods issuing processes.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Good planning, organising, and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to investigate and resolve stock variances.
• Knowledge of safety, health, environmental, and quality standards applicable to a manufacturing environment.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and accountability.
