Procurement Officer / Buyer (Supplier & Sourcing)
Position Summary
We are looking for a proactive and experienced Procurement Officer to manage supplier relationships, source materials, negotiate pricing, and ensure quality and delivery standards are met. The role requires regular travel to suppliers and vendors to evaluate products, negotiate turnaround times, and maintain strong supplier partnerships that support operational efficiency and project deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and procure materials, products, and services required for operations.
- Travel to suppliers and manufacturers to assess quality, production capability, and lead times.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and service agreements.
- Build and maintain strong supplier and vendor relationships.
- Compare quotations and ensure cost-effective purchasing decisions.
- Monitor supplier performance relating to quality, pricing, and turnaround times.
- Ensure materials meet company specifications and quality standards.
- Coordinate with production, operations, and logistics teams to ensure timely supply of materials.
- Resolve supplier issues, shortages, delays, or quality concerns.
- Maintain procurement records, purchase orders, and supplier databases.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Monitor market trends, pricing changes, and alternative suppliers.
Minimum Requirements
- Proven experience in procurement, buying, or supply chain management.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to travel regularly to suppliers and sites.
- Good understanding of pricing, supplier management, and quality control.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and purchasing systems.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Experience in manufacturing, shopfitting, construction, signage, or related industries is advantageous.
