About the Role

WRS 4x4 Accessories is looking for an organised and proactive Buyer / Procurement Officer to manage the sourcing, purchasing, and distribution of goods and materials that keep our operations running smoothly. In this role, you'll ensure materials are procured at the best price and quality, maintain optimal stock levels, coordinate with departments on material needs, and oversee driver scheduling to keep deliveries on track. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented procurement professional who enjoys building strong supplier relationships and keeping operations efficient.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement

• Source and procure materials, equipment, and services in line with company requirements
• Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to ensure cost-effective purchasing
• Evaluate supplier performance and maintain a reliable supplier database
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers
• Coordinate with finance to ensure timely invoice payment and proper budget management
• Conduct market research to stay informed on trends and supply availability
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in all procurement activities

Inventory Management

• Maintain accurate inventory records and manage stock levels to prevent overstocking or stockouts
• Conduct regular stock audits and reconcile discrepancies
• Monitor inventory turnover and implement measures to optimise stock levels
• Coordinate with the warehouse team on proper storage and handling of materials

Order Fulfilment

• Process purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials and products
• Coordinate with the receiving department to inspect incoming goods for quality and accuracy
• Manage distribution of materials to departments or project sites, keeping WIP updated daily
• Resolve order discrepancies, damages, or returns

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, invoices, and delivery notes
• Prepare regular reports on procurement activity, inventory status, and supplier performance
• Monitor procurement metrics to identify areas for improvement
• Complete Job Cost and Job Invoiced entries on the WIP for accurate profit and cost tracking
• Provide weekly Job Cards to ensure the correct items are purchased

Driver Management

• Supervise, mentor, and support the driver team
• Recruit, train, and onboard new drivers as operational needs grow
• Plan, manage, and adjust driver schedules to keep shifts and routes covered
• Coordinate with dispatchers to optimise route planning and reduce delivery times
• Adapt schedules in response to operational changes and unforeseen events

Requirements

Experience & Education

• Matric (Grade 12); a qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration is an advantage
• 3+ years' experience in a buying, procurement, or supply chain role
• Experience in the Automotive industry is advantageous
• Experience managing suppliers/vendors and negotiating contracts or pricing
• Experience with inventory/stock control and stock audits
• Experience supervising or coordinating drivers/logistics staff is an advantage
• Must be fully proficient in English and Afrikaans.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills
• Solid understanding of procurement processes, purchase orders, and invoicing
• Proficient in MS Excel and procurement/ERP or inventory management software
• Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
• Analytical mindset — able to interpret procurement metrics and market trends
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for cross-department coordination

Other Requirements

• Valid driver's license (own transport advantageous)
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Willingness to conduct regular stock audits and site coordination as required
• Non – smoker
• Resides within the East Rand.
