Job description
Procurement Specialist ANH
Isando, South Africa
Are you a procurement professional who thrives on operational excellence, cross-border complexity, and keeping supply chains moving without missing a beat? As our Procurement Specialist ANH – Intercompany Purchasing & Import Replenishment, you'll be the critical link between global supply flows and on-the-ground execution — ensuring materials arrive on time, every time, across borders and business units.
Your key responsibilities
- Own intercompany replenishment flows end-to-end — liaise with Distribution Centers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal receiving teams to guarantee on-time delivery of imported materials
- Master customs clearance & import documentation — prepare and validate all required import paperwork, coordinate clearance processes, track shipments through to receipt, and resolve holds or exceptions with speed and precision
- Drive 3rd-party import replenishment — manage supplier relationships and logistics partners, maintaining real-time visibility of goods in transit and escalating risks early with clear mitigation plans
- Execute indirect spend purchasing — process purchase requisitions and purchase orders in line with procurement policies, coordinate with suppliers, and resolve invoice or receipt mismatches efficiently
- Be a cross-functional powerhouse — act as backup for the Procurement Supply Chain Manager, support with operational procurement coverage, and keep cross-functional stakeholders aligned across Supply Chain, Finance, Logistics, and Quality
- Champion continuous improvement — actively contribute to initiatives that reduce lead times, simplify workflows, and elevate data quality across purchasing execution
We offer
- Unique career paths across Animal Nutrition & Health - explore what drives you and get the support to make it happen
- A science led company, cutting edge research and creativity everywhere – from biotech breakthroughs to sustainability game-changers, you’ll work on what’s next
- Growth that keeps up with you – you join an industry leader that will develop your expertise and leadership
- A culture that lifts you up – with collaborative teams, shared wins, and people who cheer each other on.
- Customer-first approach, turning ideas into impactful solutions
You bring
- Proven procurement or supply chain experience — minimum 3–5 years in an operational procurement, import logistics, or supply chain role within a complex, international environment
- Hands-on customs & import expertise — solid knowledge of import documentation, customs clearance processes, incoterms, and cross-border logistics coordination
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills — you naturally build bridges between Supply Chain, Finance, Quality, and external partners to keep operations flowing
- System fluency and analytical precision — proficiency in SAP (purchase-to-pay processes), Excel, and ERP/procurement tools; you manage data with accuracy and discipline
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset — you anticipate bottlenecks before they happen, escalate risks with solutions in hand, and thrive in fast-paced, high-stakes environments
- Excellent communication in English — additional languages are a plus; you operate with clarity, professionalism, and confidence across cultures and functions
