Product Catalogue

Role Summary

The Product Cataloguer is responsible for analysing product descriptions and classifying products according to established cataloguing standards. This includes creating and maintaining structured product records using a standard Noun, Modifier, and Attribute methodology to ensure consistency, accuracy, and usability of product data across systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse product descriptions, specifications, drawings, and supporting documentation.
• Identify and assign the correct Noun and Modifier classifications.
• Capture and maintain product attributes in accordance with defined taxonomy and cataloguing standards.
• Ensure product descriptions are accurate, consistent, and free from duplication.
• Perform quality checks and resolve data inconsistencies.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to clarify product information.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of cataloguing standards, rules, and procedures.

Required Skills and Experience

• Strong analytical and attention-to-detail skills.
• Experience in product data management, cataloguing, classification, taxonomy, or master data management.
• Ability to interpret technical product information and specifications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data management systems.
• Good written communication skills and ability to follow structured standards.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with ERP, EAM, or procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Maximo, Oracle).
• Familiarity with industrial, engineering, maintenance, or procurement environments.

Knowledge of taxonomy development, data governance, or material master data processes.

Pay: R80,00 - R100,00 per hour
