Job description
Location: Cape Town, hybrid · Type: Permanent, full-time · Reports to: Chief Product Officer
About Lesaka
Lesaka Technologies is a Southern African fintech building the connected ecosystem for financial inclusion- transactional banking, lending, insurance, payments and cash management for merchants, consumers and enterprise clients across the region. We’re publicly listed (Nasdaq: LSAK / JSE: LSK) and growing fast. EasyPay powers airtime, data, electricity, vouchers and 600+ bill payments through the largest retail footprint in South Africa.
The role
This role removes friction and pain for the customer and often for internal operations too across every product vertical. It’s the home of reporting, self-service, and creating insights from data. This is where most of our “solve the customer issue and innovate” project work lives.
What you’ll own
- Own reporting and self-service experiences across vouchers, virtual products, bill payments and utilities.
- Mine support tickets and usage data to find the systemic pain and distinguish it from the long tail of one-off gripes.
- Turn data into something customers couldn’t get before: proactive failure alerts, automated recons, spend insights.
- Benchmark our customer experience against what rivals offer and treat retention risks as product priorities.
- Shape the UX of dashboards and self-service flows here, the value is the experience.
- Measure ticket reduction, self-service adoption, time-to-resolve and loop residual pain back into discovery.
What you bring
- 3+ years in product management, with a strong customer-experience or data/insights bent.
- A track record of cutting support load through self-service and better tooling.
- Comfort working with data and BI teams to turn raw signal into prioritised work.
- Strong UX judgement - you can shape a flow, not just describe a problem.
- The discipline to run usability testing and validate that real customers succeed unaided.
Nice to have
- Experience with reconciliation, financial reporting or back-office tooling.
- Exposure to analytics, dashboarding or customer-insight platforms.
Our culture — what we expect from you
Lesaka is a fast-paced fintech. The people who thrive here have a few things in common:
- You don’t wait to be asked. If something is broken or unclear, you call for the ball and fix it.
- Fast adaptation. Priorities shift, markets move, regulations change. You don’t flinch, you re-plan and move.
- Execution mindset. Ideas are cheap. Shipping is the job. You walk slow, run fast: think it through, then move with urgency.
- Customer first. The merchant, consumer or enterprise client is why we exist. Your decisions trace back to them.
If you’d rather optimise a process to perfection over six months than ship something useful in six weeks, this won’t be the right fit.
