Product Owner / Business Analyst (iGaming)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst / Product Owner with a strong background in the iGaming industry to act as the bridge between business stakeholders and the development team.
This is not a traditional documentation role. The successful candidate will combine business analysis skills with product ownership, using their industry knowledge and experience to help shape product direction, identify opportunities for improvement, and ensure solutions align with iGaming best practices and regulatory requirements.
The Business Analyst / Product Owner will gather and analyse business requirements, define functional specifications, write user stories, manage the product backlog, and work closely with stakeholders to deliver high-quality features across lotto, casino, sportsbook, payments, CRM, responsible gambling, player account management, and compliance systems.
The ideal candidate will be capable of not only documenting stakeholder requirements but also identifying missing requirements, recommending industry-standard solutions, and proactively driving product improvements based on their own expertise.
Key Responsibilities
1. Requirements Gathering & Product Discovery
- Meet with stakeholders to understand business needs and operational challenges
- Analyse current business processes and identify improvement opportunities
- Document functional and non-functional requirements
- Translate business needs into clear system requirements
- Use iGaming knowledge to identify gaps, edge cases and additional requirements that may not be immediately apparent
- Recommend industry best practices and product enhancements
2. Product Ownership
- Own features throughout their lifecycle from concept through release
- Maintain and prioritise the product backlog
- Work with stakeholders to define feature priorities
- Balance business objectives, customer experience, compliance and technical considerations
- Ensure solutions align with the overall product strategy
- Make informed product decisions where detailed business requirements have not yet been defined
3. User Stories & Development Specifications
- Write detailed user stories with clear acceptance criteria
- Produce functional specifications for new features
- Define business rules, workflows and exception handling
- Ensure developers have complete and unambiguous requirements
- Review completed work against acceptance criteria before release

- Wireframe annotations (where required)
4. Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary liaison between business teams and developers
- Facilitate workshops and requirement gathering sessions
- Challenge assumptions and clarify ambiguous requirements
- Manage stakeholder expectations around scope, priorities and delivery
- Communicate product decisions clearly across the business
5. Process & Workflow Analysis
Analyse and improve key operational workflows including:
- Player registration and onboarding
- KYC and verification
- Payments and withdrawals
- Bonus configuration and promotional mechanics
- Responsible Gambling tools
- CRM automation
- Fraud and risk monitoring
- Lotto, Casino and Sportsbook integrations
6. Project Delivery Support
- Work closely with Project Managers and Development Leads
- Assist with sprint planning and backlog refinement
- Support estimation sessions
- Participate in sprint reviews
- Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Ensure delivered functionality meets business requirements
7. Documentation
Maintain accurate documentation including:
- Business Requirements Documents (BRDs)
- Functional Specifications (FSDs)
- Product documentation
- Process documentation
- Integration specifications
- Product knowledge base

Required Skills & Experience
Essential
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience as a Business Analyst or Product Owner within the iGaming industry
- Strong understanding of sportsbook, casino, player account management, payments, CRM and promotional systems
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience writing detailed user stories and functional specifications
- Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements
- Experience managing and prioritising a product backlog
- Ability to identify incomplete requirements and proactively define missing functionality
Technical Knowledge
Experience with:
- Jira (or similar)
- Confluence
- Agile / Scrum
- API integrations
- Process mapping tools (Lucidchart, Visio, Miro)
- SQL or data analysis (advantageous)
iGaming Knowledge (Essential)
The successful candidate must demonstrate practical knowledge of areas such as:
- Sportsbook
