Product Support & Sales Rep (ME)

Introduction:

Komatsu South Africa has an amazing opportunity in the Operations division at our Grootegeluk branch, for a Product Support and Sales Representative that provides expert technical advice to customers in supporting Komatsu mining products. The successful candidate must have a minimum of 4 years working experience as a Millwright and specific experience servicing and maintaining Komatsu Electric Wheel Loaders (WE1850/2350).

Qualifications:

• Millwright Trade Certificate
• Medium Voltage Certificate (an advantage)

Experience

• A minimum of 4 or more years’ post trade experience in the earthmoving industry working Electric Drive Trucks / Hydraulic & Electric Rope Shovels / Wheel Loaders.
• A minimum of 2 years’ supervisory experience (an advantage)
• Machine Operator License (an advantage)
• Komatsu product knowledge

Summary description of the role:

• Safety Observations - Identify and report safety-related defects.
• Fleet Health Monitoring - Monitor fleet condition, reliability trends, and component health.
• KomServ Inspections - Conduct scheduled inspections and condition assessments.
• Equipment Condition Reports - Compile, issue, and review reports with recommendations.
• Photo Reporting - Capture and document defects and failures.
• Technical Support - Provide OEM technical guidance and troubleshooting support.
• Failure Analysis - Assist with RCFA and identify root causes.
• Maintenance Planning - Recommend maintenance strategies and component interventions.
• Planned Maintenance - Monitor PM compliance and advise improvements.
• Component Life Management - Monitor component health and predict replacement requirements.
• Warranty Support - Identify opportunities and compile warranty documentation.
• OEM Liaison - Escalate technical issues to Komatsu factory support.
• Product Improvement Programs - Communicate OEM campaigns and upgrades.
• Parts Forecasting - Recommend critical parts requirements.
• Reliability Improvement - Drive continuous improvement initiatives and recommendations.
• Artisan & Operator Coaching - Provide technical guidance and best-practice recommendations.
• Performance Reporting - Issue daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
• Customer Satisfaction - Maintain Komatsu customer relationship and communication.
