Job description

TAX A SURED (PTY) LTD
Professional Accountant & Tax Specialist

Location: Midpark Business Village, Cape Town

Position Type: Full-time

Working Environment: Modern collaborative office environment with direct access to partners and team support.

About Tax A Sured

Tax A Sured is a modern, energetic and technology-driven tax and accounting practice based in Cape Town. We provide high-integrity advisory, compliance, accounting, payroll and strategic tax support to a diverse client base.

We place strong emphasis on continuous professional development, regular tax and legislative training, and practical knowledge sharing. Our team uses cloud accounting and practice management tools to improve efficiency so that we can spend less time on repetitive processing and more time delivering meaningful value to clients.

Why This Role?

This position is designed for a public practice professional who enjoys variety, takes ownership of deadlines, and wants to be involved in client-facing advisory work.

You will not be limited to repetitive internal corporate accounting or single-company reporting. Instead, you will manage a diverse client portfolio, contribute to client strategy discussions, perform proactive tax planning, and oversee accounting and tax compliance from start to finish.

Dynamic Client Portfolio & Exposure

  • Creative and digital industries: influencers, content creators, sound engineers and film production companies.
  • Specialised structures: family trusts, group companies and estate planning structures.
  • Commercial sector: SMME business owners, professional service firms and owner-managed companies.

Technology & Efficiency Culture

We actively embrace modern software and continuously refine our workflows to maximise practice efficiency. Current platforms include:

  • Accounting platforms: Xero and Sage Cloud Accounting.
  • Compliance and annual financial statements: ProfSoft, LexisNexis and Draftworx.
  • Tax administration: SARS eFiling and related SARS correspondence processes.

We also welcome practical software suggestions and workflow improvements from team members who want to help build a better practice environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of individuals, companies, close corporations and trusts, including bookkeeping review, VAT, payroll oversight, provisional tax, annual tax returns, dividend declarations and annual financial statements.
  • Lead and participate in client meetings, present financial results, and provide proactive tax planning and advisory input.
  • Assist with trust distribution planning, tax optimisation and practical structuring discussions where appropriate.
  • Apply the Income Tax Act, VAT Act, Companies Act, Trust Property Control Act and International Financial Reporting Standards in a practical public practice environment.
  • Work closely with the team in a collaborative environment focused on learning, knowledge sharing, problem solving and deadline discipline.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate has post-article experience in an accounting practice environment and enjoys working directly with business owners and clients. They are comfortable discussing tax matters, trusts, VAT, payroll and financial statements, and they take ownership of deadlines without needing constant supervision.

What We Are Looking For

  • Public practice background: demonstrated experience in an accounting firm or practice environment, handling multiple client entities simultaneously.
  • Professional registration: completed SAIPA articles with active Professional Accountant (PA) registration, or registered Certified Business Accountant in Practice (CBAP).
  • Tax practitioner status: active registration as a SARS Tax Practitioner.
  • Technical initiative: strong working knowledge of accounting, tax and compliance processes, with the ability to research, apply and explain technical matters.
  • Work style: self-disciplined, accurate, deadline-driven and comfortable in a client-facing advisory role.

What We Offer

  • Market-related remuneration commensurate with public practice experience and professional registration.
  • Direct involvement in client strategy, advisory discussions and high-level tax matters.
  • Dedicated time and financial support for regular CPD events and tax legislative training.
  • A vibrant, collaborative and technology-driven work culture.
  • A practice environment where practical ideas, better workflows and professional growth are actively encouraged.
