Are you a professional chef looking for extra paid bookings?

Kasi Harvest is looking for experienced professional chefs who would like to take on flexible cooking bookings in customers’ homes.

You may already work in a restaurant, hotel, catering company or hospitality environment and simply want to earn additional income on your available days.

Or you may be a chef who has stepped away from full-time hospitality but would still love to cook professionally.With Kasi Harvest, customers choose the type of meal they want and we match suitable bookings with cooks and chefs who have the right skills.

What kind of bookings?

You could be booked for:

Sunday lunches, family gatherings, birthdays, dinner parties, weekday family meals, celebrations, braais and other special occasions at customers’ homes.

This is not a full-time restaurant position.

Bookings are flexible and can take place during the week or on weekends, depending on customer demand and your availability.

What we're looking for

We'd love to hear from chefs with experience in areas such as:

Traditional South African food, family-style meals, curries, braai, seafood, meat dishes, vegetarian cooking, desserts, baking, contemporary cuisine and other specialities.

You do not have to cook everything.

We particularly want to know:

What are the dishes YOU are exceptional at?

What you'll do

For each accepted booking, you'll receive the agreed menu and booking information beforehand.

You'll travel to the customer's home and prepare the meal in their kitchen.

Depending on the size of the booking, Kasi Harvest may provide kitchen support to assist with preparation, chopping, peeling, washing cooking equipment and kitchen clean-up.

Requirements

You should:

• Have professional cooking or commercial kitchen experience
• Be confident preparing complete meals
• Have strong food hygiene standards
• Be organised and able to manage your time
• Be reliable and punctual
• Be comfortable cooking in customers' homes
• Be friendly and professional around customers
• Take pride in the presentation and quality of your food

A culinary qualification is welcome, but professional experience and the quality of your cooking are what matter most to us.

Pay

R600–R1,200+ per booking, depending on the menu, number of guests, complexity and requirements of the booking.

Pay is per booking, not per hour.

A typical booking is approximately 6–8 hours, although this can vary.
