About the Role

Winelands Private Transfers is looking for a professional, reliable and customer-focused driver to join our team on an independent contractor, part-time basis, with the intention for the role to evolve into a permanent position for the right candidate.

The primary role will involve providing professional chauffeur and passenger transport services, including airport transfers, private transfers, tours and shuttle services.

The role will also include supporting our premium courier services when required. This may involve completing occasional courier trips alongside passenger transport duties.

We are therefore looking for someone who is comfortable working across both premium passenger transport and professional courier services.

Key Responsibilities

Passenger Transport & Chauffeur Services

• Safely and professionally transport clients to and from their destinations.
• Conduct airport transfers, private transfers, tours and shuttle services.
• Provide a high standard of customer service to local and international clients.
• Ensure punctual collection and drop-off of passengers.
• Assist clients with luggage when required.
• Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times.
• Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the vehicle.
• Conduct basic vehicle checks and report any mechanical or operational issues.
• Follow company procedures and communicate effectively with the operations team.
• Represent Winelands Private Transfers professionally at all times.

Premium Courier Services

• Complete scheduled premium courier deliveries when required.
• Safely collect and deliver parcels, documents and other items.
• Handle client packages responsibly and professionally.
• Follow collection and delivery instructions accurately.
• Obtain and maintain appropriate proof of delivery.
• Communicate professionally with courier clients and recipients.
• Ensure deliveries are completed within the required timeframes.

Minimum Requirements

• Valid Code 8 driver's licence or higher.
• Code 10 driver's licence is strongly preferred.
• Valid PrDP/PDP or willingness to obtain one where applicable.
• Must reside in Stellenbosch, Klapmuts, Pniel or Kylemore. This is a mandatory requirement.
• Previous professional driving experience preferred.
• Good knowledge of Stellenbosch, the Cape Winelands and the greater Cape Town area.
• Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
• Professional appearance and presentation.
• Fluent in English. Afrikaans is an advantage.
• Must be a person of sober habits.
• Non-smoker.
• Reliable, punctual and responsible.
• Able to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• Clean driving record preferred.

Advantageous Experience & Qualifications

The following will be considered an advantage:

• Code 10 driver's licence.
• Tour Guiding Certificate / Tourist Guide qualification.
• Previous experience in tourism or hospitality.
• Experience as a tour guide, chauffeur or professional passenger driver.
• Experience in shuttle services.
• Experience in courier or delivery services.
• Previous airport transfer experience.
• Knowledge of major tourist attractions and routes throughout the Western Cape.
• Experience driving premium or luxury passenger vehicles.
• First Aid qualification.

Employment Structure

The position will initially be offered on a part-time independent contractor basis.

Our intention is for the role to develop into a permanent position as the business grows and as the successful candidate demonstrates the required reliability, professionalism, performance and commitment.

The successful candidate must therefore be interested in building a long-term working relationship with the company.

Working Hours

Working hours will vary according to operational requirements and bookings.

The position may require:

• Early morning starts
• Evening work
• Weekend work
• Public holidays
• Airport transfer shifts
• Tour and chauffeur assignments
• Occasional premium courier trips

Flexibility is essential.
