JOB TITLE: PROFESSIONAL NURSE – MIDWIFE – NIGHT DUTY

PURPOSE OF POSITION

To Provides age-appropriate patient care according to the nursing scope of practice as defined by the South African Nursing Council (SANC).

KEY PERFOMANCE AREAS

• Must be able to practice within the scope of practice as Registered Nurse (Midwife).
• Must be compliant with Hospital Policies and Regulations.
• Ability to lead and supervise staff.
• Attend to patient care within the Unit.
• Attend to patient's complaints.
• Must be able to provide safe, quality patient care in the ward.

COMPETENCIES

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

(Educational Qualifications & Experience)

• Must have grade 12
• Must be registered with SANC as a Registered Midwife.
• Preferably have two or more years of experience as Registered Midwife in Maternity or Labour Ward.
• Shift Leader

SKILLS

(Practical & Technical)

• Must have excellent telephone skills.
• Must be able to work independently under minimum supervision.
• Excellent observation skills.
