Job description

The School of Education is globally recognised for its world-class programs in pre-service teacher education, adult education, workplace learning, and higher education. We are committed to offering teacher education that is appropriate to both national and global contexts, of a high quality, and accessible to a diverse range of students.

The School seeks to employ a dedicated individual to coordinate and lecture on modules in Higher Education Studies at the postgraduate level and supervise postgraduate students. This position requires an academic who is willing to engage with curriculum development and delivery and who will play a leading role in teaching and research in the Higher Education Studies sub-discipline.

The incumbent will report to the Head of Discipline.

Minimum requirements

• A PhD degree in Higher Education Studies or a related field
• Evidence of excellent teaching experience and leadership in curriculum development at the tertiary level in a relevant field
• Evidence of current and sustained research publication of independent research in quality scientific journals (31 - 40), appropriate for the level.
• Excellent and sustained track record of successful supervision of postgraduate students at the Master's and PhD level, appropriate for the level
• Excellent and sustained track record of successful attraction of external research grants
• Evidence of national and international recognition in a research area within the sub-discipline
• Evidence of strong and sustained academic leadership within the School / College / University, which includes mentorship and coaching
