Project Co-ordinator / Junior Project Manager (Immediate Hire)

Role Overview
The Project Coordinator facilitates the successful planning, execution, and closure of cross-functional organizational projects. Operating with minimal supervision, this role bridges the gap between project managers, internal execution teams, and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate possesses a strong baseline of technical project management methodologies, sharp problem-solving capabilities, and exceptional risk awareness to keep deliverables on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
Project Administration & Documentation
· Maintain project artefacts including project plans, risk registers, action logs, and status reports.
· Ensure data accuracy across primary systems, databases, and enterprise platforms.
· Capture comprehensive minutes and track actionable deliverables following critical stakeholder sessions.
Schedule & Delivery Tracking
· Monitor workflows and timelines proactively to eliminate dependencies and bottlenecks.
· Coordinate task allocations with team leads to verify daily/weekly milestone compliance.
· Manage scheduling for sprint reviews, steering committees, and vendor alignment meetings.
Stakeholder Coordination & Communication
· Serve as a central liaison between business units, technical squads, and external suppliers.
· Provide transparent updates regarding budget tracking, scope alterations, and resource needs.
· Escalate critical roadblocks to leadership with potential mitigation pathways pre-analysed.
Financial Support
· Source vendor quotes and check project resource costing lines against targets.
· Track active expenditures to support overall budget control and financial reporting compliance.
Required Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
· Project Tool Proficiency: Advanced practical knowledge of project infrastructure like Jira, Asana, Trello, Monday.com or Microsoft Project.
· Methodology Application: Strong grounding in Agile (Scrum/Kanban) and traditional Waterfall delivery structures.
· Office Suite Competency: Intermediate to advanced capabilities in Sheets (data tracking) and slides (reporting layout).
Behavioural Competencies
· High Attention to Detail: Exceptional capability in maintaining documentation accuracy and error-free tracking.
· Strategic Time Management: Ability to self-prioritize tasks while simultaneously monitoring multiple shifting project timelines.
· Adaptive Problem-Solving: Clear mindset geared toward spotting potential project friction before it manifests as a delay.
Education & Experience Requirements
Minimum Requirements
· Education: National Senior Certificate (Matric). A Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Business Administration or Information Systems or Project Management, or a related field.
· Experience: 2 to 5 years of dedicated experience in project coordination, project support, or PMO administration.
Preferred Qualifications
· Industry Certifications: Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), PRINCE2 Foundation/Practitioner, or AgilePM credentials.
· Sector Exposure: Prior experience within specialized sectors (e.g., Software/SDLC, FinTech, Engineering, or Corporate Enterprises) relative to your operating team.
