Property Assistant

Badenhorst Attorneys and Properties is looking for an Assistant -Auctions, Property & Rentals

We are seeking a capable and reliable individual to support our team with administrative and practical tasks relating to property, rentals, and auctions. No legal qualification is required — training will be provided on the job.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Administrative support with property transactions and documentation
• Preparation, sorting, and cataloguing of auction items
• Labelling and organising of documents and files
• Deliveries, collections, and driving between locations (clients, auction venues, Deeds Office, banks, etc.)
• Basic client liaison and communication with agents, tenants, and landlords
• Liaising with auctioneers and banks and coordinating auction logistics
• Supervising and assisting, maintenance workers and contractors on rental properties
• Coordinating and overseeing basic repairs and maintenance at rental properties (plumbing, electrical, painting, general handyman work)
• Conducting property inspections and reporting on maintenance needs
• General office and file administration

Requirements:

• Matric (Grade 12)
• Valid driver's licence (Code B)
• Neat, organised, and reliable
• Good communication skills in Afrikaans and English
• Basic computer literacy (MS Office / Outlook)
• Physically fit — able to carry/lift items and perform basic repairs where required
• Practical handyman skills or experience with basic property repairs and maintenance, will count in your favour.

Preference: Preference will be given to Afrikaans-speaking candidates, given the firm's client base and daily working language requirements.

Advantageous:

• Previous experience in a legal or rental practice, estate agency, or auction environment
• Experience supervising workers or contractors
• Experience with property/rental repairs and maintenance
• Knowledge of the Bloemfontein area
• Honesty and integrity (working with confidential and valuable items)
