Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Qualified Pharmacist based in Centurion. The pharmacist will perform clinical dispensing, provide medication counseling, and ensure accurate, safe, and compliant pharmaceutical services to all clients. Daily responsibilities include verifying prescriptions, overseeing the use of automated dispensing systems and smart lockers, managing stock levels, and supporting blister packing operations. The role involves collaborating with pharmacy assistants and other team members, maintaining professional standards, and contributing to continuous improvement of workflow and customer experience. The pharmacist will also assist with health shop offerings, support chronic medication management programs, and ensure clients receive consistent, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Professional pharmacy qualifications, including registration as a Pharmacist with the South African Pharmacy Council, and compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements.
• Strong clinical pharmacy skills, including accurate dispensing, medication safety management, patient counseling, and chronic disease medication support.
• Experience with, or willingness to learn, pharmacy technology solutions such as automated dispensing robots, smart lockers, and blister packing systems.
• Operational and retail pharmacy skills, including stock control, ordering, handling of scheduling and workflow, and collaboration with pharmacy support staff.
• Patient-focused communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, empathetic guidance and maintain high standards of personal service in a diverse community.
• Attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and compliance.
• Basic computer literacy and comfort working with pharmacy management software and digital tools.
• Previous experience in a retail pharmacy setting is advantageous; exposure to innovative or technology-driven pharmacy models is a plus.
