Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: R15 000 – R20 000 CTC per month (Negotiable based on experience)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Food Safety & QA Specialist to oversee, implement, and maintain our food safety management systems. The ideal candidate will bring extensive industry expertise, hands-on experience with strict compliance standards, and the ability to drive operational excellence across all safety and quality policies.
Key Responsibilities
System Implementation & Management: Design, implement, and maintain robust food safety management systems, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Compliance & Audits: Lead preparation for and manage external audits, ensuring strict compliance with industry standards.
HACCP & FSSC 22000 Oversight: Maintain HACCP principles and leverage direct experience with FSSC 22000 (specifically Intertek standards) to uphold high quality control.
Laboratory Testing: Oversee and conduct lab testing, sample analysis, and quality verification processes.
Continuous Improvement: Perform regular internal audits, risk assessments, and staff training to ensure continuous alignment with safety regulations.
Requirements & Qualifications
Industry Experience: Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in the food manufacturing or food processing industry.
Standards & Certifications:
Proven experience with HACCP implementation and management.
Explicit experience with Intertek / FSSC 22000 frameworks.
Technical Skills: Strong background in food safety management systems and lab testing methodologies.
Leadership: Proven track record of creating and enforcing policies, procedures, and quality protocols.
Licensing & Transport: Valid driver's license and own reliable vehicle (non-negotiable).
Pay: R15 000,00 - R20 000,00 per month
