POSITION STATEMENT
The company quality assurance officer is the representative of the project and has the responsibility of ensuring a quality network build and signoff.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Control and distribution of the company Civil Acceptance Certificates. (CAC)
- Control and distribution of the company Fibre Acceptance Certificates. (FAC)
- Control and distribution of the company Hand Over Certificates. (HOC)
- Taking care of QA documentation of the entire build including certificates, test results and uploading of documentation.
- Control and achieve documentation on completion off the builds.
Coordinate and manage targets set with PMO.
- Assure to focus on deadlines and deliverables.
- Monitor the progress and effectiveness of the project quality.
- Coordinate with the PMO representative and plan for inspections and meetings about quality problems during build and sign offs.
- Keep Operations informed on progress and ensure BMCT ANO inspections and involvement.
- Ensure milestones achieved and drive coordination of completed tasks & submissions.
- Ensure clear communication if any Deadlines are not going to be met with clear explanations.
Monitor all quality related activities on the project.
- Perform all daily onsite inspections and test of the scope and character necessary to achieve the quality of build set out by the PMO.
- Recommend and implement improvements where required.
- Monitor project progress on Quick Base
Preparation and control of project quality during builds.
- Carry out onsite inspections and checking for all quality related inspections of the build and ensure activity on the build as per approved planning and specs.
Coordinate all quality related correspondence with Management.
- Report to QA manager, control and monitor all activities related to quality management systems.
Manage improvement initiative projects and act as custodian.
- Attend Required meetings regarding Quality improvements and recommendations.
- Keep Operations informed and involved on progress of builds and build quality.
Other
- Conduct full site audits when required, on existing networks.
- Inspections done for operations department on quality of contractor work performed.
- Travel between provinces.

- The role requires someone who is quality orientated and are not influenceable by contractors and/or staff.
Skills & Knowledge
- Knowledge of CBU (Customer Business Unit) and EBU (Enterprise Business Unit) networks and build mythologies.
- Able to read, understand planning documents. (FTTH and FTTB Builds)
- Efficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Able to read and understand Splicing diagrams and Patch Plans.
- Attention to detail.
- Understanding basic network equipment.
- Understand basic operation of network testing equipment and parameters.
- QuickBase knowledge and report creation.
- Project management.
- Contract management.
- Risk assessment.
- Delivering results: ability to plan and organize self and work in order to achieve objectives, targets and timelines.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- 5 years’ experience in implementation, project management, maintenance, monitoring and auditing; experience in the telecommunication industry and best practice knowledge application.
- Quality Assurance experience preferred.
- Stakeholder relationship experience.
- MS Office suite
