About the Role
We are looking for a recently graduated student to join our production team. This is an exciting opportunity for a 12-Month Internship to gain hands-on experience in food manufacturing quality assurance, working closely with our production and quality teams to ensure our products consistently meet the highest standards.
You will be involved in all aspects of quality control — from receiving and inspecting raw materials through to finished goods evaluation — giving you broad exposure to industry best practices, food safety systems, and production operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect and analyse incoming raw materials and micro elements, verifying quality against Certificates of Analysis and traceability documentation.
- Monitor and document quality parameters and specifications for each product throughout production runs.
- Communicate results, findings and recommendations to the Shift Lead / Production Manager in a timely manner.
- Perform nutritional analysis of finished goods and additional quality tests including Moisture Analyser, Oven-dry, and Breakages & Fines assessments.
- Evaluate finished goods quality during the bagging procedure and conduct weekly Quality Assurance evaluations.
- Assist with start-up of products at the extruder and support internal and external audits.
- Conduct daily biosecurity inspections of vehicle drive-throughs and foot dips in line with SOP requirements.
- Carry out random plant hygiene inspections and report any concerns immediately.
- Ensure the waste area is maintained and canteen cleaning is performed to the required standard.
- Support training of staff on standard operating procedures related to Quality Assurance.
- Assist with stock takes of micro elements as required.
What We're Looking For
- Recently completed a qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, Quality Management, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Good numeracy and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and take initiative in a fast-paced production environment.
- High energy levels with the ability to work independently and adhere to set standards.
- Demonstrated integrity and a quality-oriented mindset.
- Ability to build positive working relationships across production and quality teams.
