Job description
QUALITY CONTROL INSPECTOR – Port Elizabeth
Looking for a Quality Control Inspector to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that vehicles are repaired to a high standard before they are released to customers and insurers.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct final quality inspections on completed vehicle repairs.
- Check bodywork, paintwork, panel alignment, gaps and overall finish.
- Ensure repairs have been completed according to the approved repair estimate and manufacturer standards.
- Identify outstanding repairs, defects or workmanship issues before vehicle delivery.
- Check that vehicles are correctly assembled and all components are functioning as expected.
- Conduct road tests where required.
- Ensure vehicles are clean and presentable before delivery.
- Liaise with technicians, panel beaters, painters and management regarding any quality concerns.
- Complete quality control checklists and report any issues requiring attention.
- Assist in maintaining high standards of workmanship and customer service.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12 certificate
- Valid driver's licence
- Previous experience in the automotive, panel-beating, motor body repair or vehicle inspection environment will be advantageous.
- Good knowledge of vehicle body repairs and paintwork.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Reliable, responsible and quality-focused.
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is hands-on, detail-oriented and takes pride in quality workmanship. You should have the confidence to identify problems and ensure that vehicles meet the required standard before they leave the workshop.
