Racing Agent

We are expanding our Trading Department and we’re looking for Racing Agents to join our team. This role is central to ensuring accurate, compliant and responsive horse racing markets. You’ll work closely with senior traders to prepare markets, monitor liabilities and maintain operational accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Enter and update race scratchings accurately and on time
• Create and maintain place fields for daily and feature races
• Support manual odds maintenance under supervision
• Assist with liability monitoring and reporting during and after shifts
• Verify jockey silks and tote integration checks before market opening
• Collaborate with senior traders to ensure market readiness and compliance
• Provide responsive support for racing queries until ±00h00
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, betting regulations and operational standards

Requirements

• Experience in horse racing or betting industry preferred
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
• Ability to manage time-sensitive tasks under supervision
• Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends and provide after-hours support
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn trading systems quickly
• Basic knowledge of betting products and South African racing
• Reliable transport if required for office-based shifts
