Job description
Our client (based in Airport Industrial) is recruiting for an experienced Rebate Accountant to join their Group Finance team. This role has a strong management accounting focus and is responsible for financial reporting, supplier rebate accounting, forecasting and driving financial efficiencies across the Group. The ideal candidate will have previous experience managing supplier rebates within a retail, wholesale, FMCG or similar commercial environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Processing monthly Group journals
- Preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Preparing accurate monthly reports
- Ensuring supplier agreements are aligned with the company’s policies and procedures on creditor terms and rebates management, and that the ERP system is updated accordingly
- Establish and maintain productive relationships with suppliers and the merchandise team.
- Calculating and processing rebate accrual journals
- Calculating actual rebates received and ensuring suppliers are invoiced timeously
- Reconciling accrued amounts to actual rebates received
- Ensuring all rebates are collected timeously
- Preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations relating to rebate
- Forecasting and tracking volume rebates
- Driving efficiencies relating to the rebates function through involvement in projects across functions
- Assisting with standardisation of financial accounting policies, procedures and processes across Group companies
- Monitoring adherence to financial accounting policies and procedures
- Assisting with financial projects across Group companies
Requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- B.Compt (Hons) with articles
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience
