Job description
- Receive shipments and sign paperwork upon receipt;
- Unload packages from incoming trucks;
- Use dollies, forklifts, and other moving equipment to transport shipments from the loading dock;
- Check the shipping invoice to ensure all items are accounted for;
- Open boxes and inspect contents to ensure they are undamaged;
- Verify packages according to order and invoices (quantity, quality, price etc.);
- Maintain accurate records and assist with inventory control;
- Contact procurement or shipper if a mistake is identified;
- Work closely with the management team and Quality Assurance to resolve any queries or uncertainties;
- Assume responsibility for returning unsatisfactory shipments or receiving replacements;
- Package products for return to vendors and complete any necessary paperwork;
- Label deliveries and allocate them to their designated place;
- Ensure invoices are signed and paid for when deliveries were satisfactory;
- Store, restock, and shelf delivery items as necessary;
- Track and report on all received spares daily;
- Work with internal stakeholders to resolve any problems;
- Conduct daily stock checks on all items reflecting "received" on SAM;
- Update stock on the SAM system;
- Monitor tooling in the receiving area;
- Ensure that the receiving area is clean and organized;
- Process transfers for shipments moving on to another location;
- Ensure all items are received correctly and were not damaged during the shipping process;
- Communicate with other departments within the company to ensure that shipments are delivered on time;
- Ensure the receiving area is audit ready at any given time.
- Grade 12 or equivalent (Essential);
- Warehouse Training certification (Advantageous);
- Dangerous goods and Aircraft spares packing certifications (Advantageous);
- 3-5 years warehousing or receiving experience in a mid-size organisation (Essential);
- Experience operating forklifts (Beneficial);
- Experience working with SAM AMO system (Advantageous);
- Forklift license (Beneficial);
- Willing to work overtime as and when required.
