Job description
Job Summary
The Receiving Supervisor is responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations including receiving, storing, merchadising. The role ensures stock accuracy, maintains a clean and safe working environment, and contributes to efficient inventory management. Oversee and co-ordinate the receiving team's activities and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming goods against delivery notes
- Manage inter branch transfers
- Communictae with Procurement at Head Office level
- Co-ordinate and control stock movements, documentation from sales, dispatch, satelite branches.
- Offload delivery vehicles and containers
- Label, sort, and store inventory in designated areas
- Conduct regular stock counts and assist with stocktaking
- Maintain accurate inventory records (manual and digital systems)
- Ensure warehouse cleanliness and organization
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times
- Report damaged goods, discrepancies, or stock shortages
- Support general warehouse duties as required
Minimum RequirementsEducation
- Grade 12 / Matric (or equivalent)
Experience
- 3-5 years’ experience in a warehouse environment
Skills & Competencies
- Good numeracy and literacy skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Good physical stamina (ability to lift and move heavy items)
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Basic computer literacy (especially inventory systems), email and excel.
- Good communication skills
- Team player with a positive attitude
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Ability to lift and carry boxes (typically 15–25 kg)
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, or overtime if required
