Receptionist - Switchboard Operator

Introduction Pepkor Lifestyle is seeking a Switchboard Operator who will serve as the first point of contact for our organisation. This role primarily focuses on managing incoming calls and ensuring a friendly and efficient front-desk experience, contributing to overall customer satisfaction and communication flow within the company.

Job Description To ensure all receptionist responsibilities are completed with high quality and delivered timeously in a customer centric manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and respond to incoming calls and reroute effectively where required.
• Provide Reception services through serving visitors by greeting, welcoming, directing and announcing them appropriately.
• Perform additional clerical receptionist duties when required.
• Deal with customers in a customer centric manner.
• Effective Self-management and teamwork.
• Maintain the switchboard and ensure it operates effectively, troubleshooting any issues that arise.
• Handle inquiries and resolve issues, ensuring a positive experience for all callers and visitors.
• Manage scheduling and meeting rooms for staff, coordinating effectively to optimise workflow.
• Maintain a tidy and organised reception area, ensuring it is welcoming at all times.
• Collaborate with other administrative staff to support various operational needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Grade 12
• 2-3 years Switchboard and Receptionist experience
• Experience in a corporate or professional services environment is advantageous.
• Basic knowledge of operation of telecommunications systems.
• Familiarity with CRM systems or similar tools to streamline customer interactions.
• Additional language skills are a plus, enhancing communication with diverse clients and visitors.
