The Laundry is a local Cape Town business delivering fresh, immaculate linen care for the short-term rental and Airbnb market, as well as everyday locals. We take the stress out of turnover days for property hosts by guaranteeing fast, reliable turnarounds on bedding and towels. We are seeking a reliable, down-to-earth Receptionist to run our front desk and intake station in Cape Town. You will be the friendly face of the shop—working directly alongside our back-of-house laundry crew and drivers to welcome customers, log incoming laundry loads, and keep our daily drop-offs moving smoothly.

What You Will Do (Daily Responsibilities)

• Customer Care: Greet local residents, Airbnb hosts, and delivery drivers with a friendly, helpful attitude.
• Order Intake: Take in laundry bags, weigh or count loads accurately, attach the correct tracking tags, and log the details into our basic shop system.
• Phone & Messages: Answer incoming calls and messages regarding basic pricing and collection times, routing urgent host requests to management.
• Logistics Support: Coordinate with our drivers throughout the day to confirm collection slots and delivery drop-offs.
• Counter Admin: Keep the front counter clean, handle point-of-sale card payments, and assist with basic daily cash-ups.

What We Require (Job Requirements)

• People Skills: A warm, approachable personality with a genuine comfort chatting with everyday customers and working alongside a hands-on crew.
• Basic Computer Literacy: Ability to confidently navigate a basic digital tablet, computer spreadsheet, or shop booking platform to log orders.
• High Attention to Detail: Natural discipline to double-check ticket tags and customer names so garments and linens never get mixed up.
• Clear Communication: Good verbal English skills to communicate timelines clearly on the phone and in person.
• Reliable Commute: Must be based in the Cape Town region with reliable transport to get to the shop punctually for your shifts.
