Job description
BIOVAC is one of the leading sterile vaccine manufacturers rooted in Africa, with our core purpose being to "protect life". We are looking to hire a dynamic, passionate, confident, proactive and meticulous Recruitment Lead to join a goal-oriented team on a 3-year fixed term contract.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED:

Bachelor’s degree in in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
Experience needed to deliver the role seamlessly:
Required:

5+ years of experience in recruitment or talent acquisition, with at least 2 years in a leadership role

Proven success in scaling hiring operations and leading recruitment teams

Experience in employer branding, DEI initiatives, and recruitment marketing
-
Experience in Project Management - HR or recruitment certification (e.g., SHRM, LinkedIn Talent Solutions) is an advantage resource. Preferred:

Working knowledge of Bio-Pharmaceutical /Vaccine Manufacturing Industry

Experience in Leading a recruitment Team

Experience in People Business Strategy KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:
Core Technical Delivery
-
Design and implement recruitment strategies aligned with business goals
-
Manage full-cycle recruitment: sourcing, screening, interviewing, pre-employment assessments selection, and onboarding
-
Effective and comprehensive management of the recruitment budget
-
Lead and develop a high-performing recruitment team
-
Collaborate with department heads to forecast hiring needs and build talent pipelines
-
Drive employer branding and candidate engagement initiatives
-
Monitor recruitment KPIs and optimize processes for efficiency and quality
-
Ensure compliance with labour laws, data protection regulations, and internal policies
-
Promote inclusive hiring practices and support DEI goals
-
Manage vendor relationships (e.g., agencies, job boards, background check providers)
-
Maintain accurate documentation and audit-ready recruitment records
-
Proficiency in Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) such as Mantal and Wamly
-
Advanced sourcing techniques (LinkedIn Recruiter)
-
Recruitment analytics, metrics and dashboard reporting (Excel, Power BI, or HR analytics tools)
-
Familiarity with HRIS platforms and CRM tools

Experience with recruitment marketing and employer branding tools

Knowledge of labour legislation (e.g. EEA, SDA, LRA, BCEA, POPIA) and compliance standards People Management

Align departmental focus areas and outputs to the business’s objectives
-
Conduct business, cross functional and departmental planning and execute activities within own scope of accountability.

Adequate capacity planning and performance delivery in line with strategic, tactical and operational plans
-
Role profiling, goal setting and performance management of managers and staff within the department.

Develop and implement a knowledge management infrastructure within the department to ensure Intellectual Property is effectively maintained

Growth, succession & retention of departmental talent.

Accountability for own and team's personal and professional learning & development to ensure technical and leadership bench strength within the department

Ensure accurate delegation of ongoing operational activities in the event of key staff members’ absence.
