Job description
We are seeking a Cost Accountant to join our Operations and Finance Department. In this role, you will be responsible for performing cost analyses and preparing financial reports.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, with the ability to consolidate data, calculate costs, and assess cost-effectiveness. You should also be capable of producing detailed reports that present practical, cost-effective solutions for the regional branches under your responsibility.
Ultimately, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date cost information, managing databases, and supporting initiatives to maximise company profitability.

Role Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CIMA qualification.
- 2–3 years’ experience in cost accounting or a similar role.
- Strong technical expertise in financial reporting, analysis, and management, including proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience in financial modelling, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Willingness to travel between regional branches.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and analyse cost information and maintain an accurate expense database.
- Develop and maintain data accumulation systems.
- Plan and record variable costs.
- Review standard and actual costs for discrepancies.
- Prepare budget reports.
- Analyse and report on profit margins.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Identify and recommend cost-effective solutions.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
- Evaluate and improve cost accounting processes and systems.
- Provide detailed reports and commentary to management on cost trends.
- Conduct cost–benefit analyses for new projects, products, and process improvements.
