Job description
The Regional Manager's key responsibility is to manage ASUs and Nexus warehouses within the Region efficiently and effectively to maximise customer satisfaction and meet and exceed the company's financial and operational objectives.
The Regional Manager reports directly to the National Operations Manager.
The incumbent in this position is expected to assist the Company in achieving its vision and mission. Customer focus, company growth, and a willingness to assist as needed are expectations from all employees.
Key areas of accountability:
1. ASU Management
* Time and attendance management
* Day to day operational management activity against KPIs
* Reporting into the business on ASU performance
* Client relationship manager
* Responsible for within the regions ASU's
* Responsible for the compliance to 5's standards within the region
*Responsible for the ongoing quality recruitment within the region
*Responsible for training and competence assessment of all ASU storemen within the region
*Responsible for the compliance to business process for scanning and stock management within the region.
*Responsible for ensuring compliance to client service levels within the region
*Manpower and leave planning within the area
*Manage the disciplinary process in accordance with the Labour Relations Act within the region
2. Warehouse Management
* Efficient management of all operational activities within the Nexus warehouses in the region
*Initiate, coordinate and enforce company operational policies and procedures
* Manage the actual productivity and output of all warehouse operational departments namely Receiving, Inventory Management, Kitting, order processing and Despatch
*Effective and efficient utilization of all warehouse space according to operational requirements
*Manage all equipment utilised in the operation ensuring all are services, repaired, or replaced when required and within budget
*Management of all production materials including packaging within budget
* Responsible for driving regular development and improvement of operational processes and procedures
*Ensuring that the operational service levels are monitored and met daily
*Ensuring warehouse stock is managed to customer satisfaction and company standards
*Ensure operational SOP's are understood and followed at all sites
* Ensure all operational objectives for the region are met
3. Customer Relations
* Ensures that each customer's service level requirements are met in a cost-effective manner
* Clear and concise communication with customers when required
*Build a sound professional relationship with customers where required
4. Property and Asset Management
*Housekeeping - ensure housekeeping standards are met within warehouses
*Maintenance and repairs - 100% when required
*Manage all company assets such as furniture (including, warehouse racking), tools and work equipment, computers, and other; as well as rented equipment or vehicles
5. Security
*Ensure all security measures are executed as per the Security Policies, Processes and Procedures are adhered to 100% at the various warehouses
*Investigation of security breaches and transgression
*Management of the on-site security service providers and guards
6. Nexus Depot Management
*Time and attendance management
*Day to day operations in the depot
*Accuracy and speed of receiving dispatching and delivering consignments
*Distribution planning including both push and pull methodologies
*Premises and Vehicle management
*Compliance to 5s within the depots
*Compliance to health and safety within the depots
* General look and feel and upkeep of the depots
7. Staff Management
* Timekeeping and absenteeism
*Staff development and training, including cross-training
*Performance management
*Safe work environment - OHASA
*Quality recruitment and selection of staff
*Management of the disciplinary process in the region
* Staff appearance - as per Company Uniform standards and OHSA
8. Operational Excellence
*Co-development of standard operating procedures within the ASU's and small depots
* Contribution to ongoing improvements in both Standard Operating Procedures and ways of working
9. General
*Maintenance and good keeping of company assets and equipment
*Responsible for shrinkage and stock loss in the region
*Ongoing cost Management
*Leading the team within the region according to the company values
