vivo South Africa is looking for an energetic, engaging, and results-driven Regional Trainer to join our team in Johannesburg.
We're seeking an experienced trainer who can drive product knowledge transformation, improve retail team capability, and ultimately contribute to sales growth across the region.
Candidates with mobile phone, telecom, consumer electronics, or retail training experience will be highly preferred. Experience as a Sales Supervisor, Field Coach, Retail Manager, or Trainer with a proven record of improving sales performance is a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver product, sales, and skills training to retail teams, promoters, dealers, and business partners
- Localize training content provided by Headquarters and develop engaging training materials aligned with business needs
- Lead new product launch training programs and ensure rapid product knowledge adoption across the market
- Identify capability gaps through sales data, audits, field visits, and stakeholder feedback
- Conduct classroom, online, and in-store training sessions
- Monitor training effectiveness and implement improvement plans to strengthen sales performance
- Coach and develop field staff to improve execution standards, customer engagement, and sell-out results
- Conduct onboarding and certification programs for new employees
- Travel regularly across assigned regions to conduct training and retail audits
- Create training presentations, learning materials, assessments, and product explanation videos
- Manage training records, reporting, learning platforms, and training assets
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Product, Marketing, and HR teams
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Training, Education, Business, Marketing, or a related field
- Minimum 2–5 years' experience in Training, Learning & Development, Retail Operations, Field Sales Coaching, or a similar role
- Experience as a Mobile Phone / Telecom Trainer is highly preferred
- Experience managing, coaching, or supervising retail sales teams will be a strong advantage
- Demonstrated success in improving team capability, training effectiveness, or sales performance through training initiatives
- Experience in mobile phones, telecom, consumer electronics, FMCG, or retail environments
- Strong presentation, facilitation, and communication skills
- Ability to engage and influence diverse audiences
- Experience developing and localizing training materials
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and training reporting tools
- Willingness to travel frequently within assigned regions
- Valid driver's license and own vehicle preferred
