Registered General Nurse – Immediate Start

Location:  Somerset West, Western Cape

Contract type:  Permanent

Start date:  Immediate. Candidates must be available to start right away.

Remuneration:  R28,000 per month (before deductions)

Working hours:  Monday to Thursday 07:30 – 16:15 | Friday 07:30 – 15:00

Role Overview

We're looking for a Registered General Nurse who can start immediately at our Somerset West clinic. You'll handle general clinic and primary healthcare duties and work closely with our occupational health team to make sure patients get safe, professional and efficient care in a well-run clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments, triage and basic clinical examinations
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Keep accurate patient records and clinical documentation
• Provide health education, counselling and referrals where needed
• Assist with chronic disease monitoring and management
• Keep the clinic clean, safe and compliant with infection prevention and control standards
• Manage clinic stock, consumables and equipment
• Support occupational health screening processes as directed
• Liaise with the occupational medical practitioner and health team on complex cases
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health legislation and SANC standards of practice

Minimum Requirements

• Available to start immediately (essential)
• Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a General Nurse, with registration valid and up to date
• Diploma or degree in General Nursing
• Valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
• Dispensing certificate (essential)
• BLS / first aid certification (advantageous)
• Computer literate (Microsoft Office or clinic management systems)
• Valid driver's licence (advantageous)
