We are seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic and experienced Registered Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team. If you are passionate about supporting individuals on their recovery journey and have experience in substance abuse treatment, we would love to hear from you.

Requirements and Key Responsibilities :

• Registered Nurse, registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
• Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a substance abuse rehabilitation facility.
• Psychiatric Nursing qualification and/or relevant psychiatric nursing experience will be an advantage.
• Sound knowledge of caring for individuals with substance use disorders, including alcohol, prescription medication and illicit drug dependence.
• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments to determine the extent of substance use and identify related physical and mental health conditions.
• Administer detoxification and withdrawal medications safely and accurately.
• Monitor patients throughout the withdrawal and recovery process.
• Educate patients and their families on addiction, recovery, relapse prevention and available support resources.
• Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary treatment team to provide holistic, patient-centred care.
• Support patients with co-occurring mental health conditions.
• Accurately document patient progress and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment interventions.
• Advocate for patient dignity, harm reduction, recovery and the reduction of stigma associated with substance use disorders.
• Respond appropriately to medical and psychiatric emergencies when required.
