Registered Nurse – Night Duty (Frail Care) -Benoni

Medwell Brentmed is seeking a compassionate, experienced, and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Frail Care team on night duty. This position is ideal for a confident nursing professional who is passionate about elderly care, demonstrates strong leadership skills, and is committed to delivering exceptional resident-centred care during the night shift.

Minimum Requirements

• Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Registered Nurse.
• Previous experience in frail care, geriatric care, retirement villages, or long-term care will be advantageous.
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively manage a multidisciplinary team during night shifts.
• Sound knowledge of medication management, infection control, and nursing best practices.

Key Responsibilities

As the Nursing Supervisor on shift, you will:

• Lead and supervise the nursing and caregiver team.
• Deliver safe, compassionate, and high-quality nursing care to residents.
• Conduct resident assessments and update individual care plans as required.
• Administer medication accurately according to prescribed schedules.
• Manage admissions, emergencies, incidents, and hospital transfers.
• Ensure accurate nursing documentation, reporting, and comprehensive shift handovers.
• Monitor resident wellbeing through regular clinical observations and ward rounds.
• Ensure compliance with nursing protocols, infection prevention, health and safety standards, and company policies.
• Coordinate staffing, delegate duties, and provide guidance and support to caregivers.
• Promote teamwork, professionalism, and a positive, resident-centred care environment.
• Maintain ward organisation, medication stock, equipment readiness, and efficient ward operations.

work hours: 19:00pm to 07:00am. 5/2 split

Rate per hour: R134,00 per hour
